What are Kettlebells?
Russian Kettlebells are a strength training tool that date from the early 1900’s.
They are cast iron balls with a flat bottom, a handle on top and are sized according to weight.
Their shape displaces their center of gravity, requiring the body to work to control them.
Kettlebells are measured in kilograms and tend to be heavier than traditional weights (i.e., dumbbells), and so require you to use more of your body in any given exercise.
There are 2 types of movement in Russian Kettlebell training: ballistic movements, which involve momentum, and grinding movements, which involve sheer force.
